The WILDCAT TROPHY, 2010 edition, will make its debut on the AFRICA ECO RACE from December 27th 2009 to January 10th 2010.
Having been in existence for four years, this race-within-a-race is
reserved for amateur drivers behind the wheel of a Bowler-QT Wildcat.
Reliable and easy to tame, the Wildcat has a tubular chassis and a
fibreglass shell. The 4-litre V8 petrol engine, or 2.5 litre dt5
Diesel, makes the whole extremely homogenous. Most of the mechanical
parts, including the gearbox and the axles, come from the Land Rover
Defender. Eugénie Decré, a real kingpin of the Wildcat Trophy since its
creation in 2007, is enthusiastic about taking part in this event:
«The
philosophy of the Africa Race corresponds perfectly to the spirit of
the Trophy, an event created for amateur drivers, based on pleasure and
conviviality. The Bowler-QT Wildcat is perfect for this sort of event,
where the ability of the driver and the reliability of the machine are
essential in order to hope for a good result. But you also have to be
clever and careful to avoid the potential traps of a real African
event.»
